Our memory for eco-friendly lives

This is the blog that I have made to remember our brother whose songs have influenced us to live in harmony with nature and human beings.
Franky Sahilatua passed away on the date when we were celebrating Kartini's day at the People House of DPRD Yogyakarta. It was an amazing activity to show the support of women in Yogyakarta for their loving province to be in peaceful. I wrote a special report on this on my sub-blog which titled "Public Discourses and Policies".
I got to know "bung" that means brother, Franky when he came to help Yogya after the province hit by the earthquake in May 27, 2006. Through our service with Merti Jogja, he shown his love for people here.
This year in January, we all women who gathered at the national working days of Indonesian Women Coalition in Jakarta, sang his song titled "Kemesraan" to show our unity for continue our struggles for justice and democracy to all human beings in Indonesia.
"Kemesraan" means feeling love. Government has to feel "kemesraan" to his people to serve her work faithfully. This is not only about the feeling "kemesraan" mainly but it is also about to transform of the feeling into an action that all of us know that we do not selfish for ourselves, our races, our tribes, our etnics, our religous communities, our nations, but to walk just and merciful to all human beings.
Only when we feel closely to each other, only when we freed ourselves from prejudices and stereotipes, we can work to achieve our struggles for sharing together this one earth to whole people.
Franky's songs and work show his depth of understanding toward the issue of polical ecology and how cultures of people in Indonesia could offer a different perspective and solution to our nature. Nature is his friend to talk with which flows the strengths to continue his journey. He returns his life to the nature with the mercy of the Creator who loves all human beings unconditionally.
You returned to God whom you love so much and your teaching to love this life and nature will company our journey to be faithful like yours. Rest in peace in His hand, my brother, Franky!
